Alicia Hawkins (She/Her)

Alicia is an educator, filmmaker, and writer originally from Buffalo, NY. Her work often centers on complex and intersecting identities, the restorative power of nature, untold histories of marginalized communities, and unexpected resilience. Her documentary film work has been screened at various festivals and museums across the U.S. and Canada, and her screenwriting has won accolades from festivals, including the REEL Sisters of the Diaspora and Hollywood Diversity Film Festival. Before joining AMDA, Alicia previously taught at Antioch University and Northwest Indian College in their reservation-based programs at the Muckleshoot Tribal College and at Temple University.
